Empowering Girls Through Menstrual Health Education in Nairobi’s Slums

n many slums across Nairobi, topics related to menstruation are often shrouded in secrecy and misinformation. Cultural taboos and a lack of proper education contribute to a cycle of shame that makes it difficult for girls to understand and manage their menstrual health. The Bidii Girls Programme recognized that simply providing sanitary pads is not enough; there is a pressing need to educate girls about menstruation and equip them with the knowledge to care for themselves confidently.
